Ancillary Activity Properties Pane
The Activity Properties pane displays the properties of the activity that is selected in the 2D Canvas.
The Activity Properties pane is located on the right of the Setup Schedule > Activities tab.
There are three check box fields on the Activity Properties pane that control how resources are allocated to activities. These resource allocation rules are specific to different activities.
Some activities, such as Mining, usually allow a mucking resource to be split evenly between all available stopes, or to be reallocated to a different stope before the first stope has been completely mined. Other activities, such as Backfilling, usually do not allow resources to be split evenly between all available stopes, or for the back fill infrastructure to be moved to a different stope until the first stope has been completely backfilled.
Fields on the Activity Details Pane
| Field |
Description |
| Name |
The name of the activity.
The name can be made up of alphanumeric characters, hyphens, and underscores. Other characters are not permitted. Names should be concise and descriptive. Activity names are not case-sensitive.
|
| Activity image |
The image for the activity that appears on the 2D Canvas.
You can change the image and its colour, or reset the image back to the default by right-clicking on the image and using the shortcut menu.
|
| Splits |
| Split locations by polygon / object |
- Selected: Splits a mining location into one or more polygons or objects. Splitting a mining location allows activities to be performed before or after the mining of each set of polygons or objects in the location.
Note: To split locations the mining method must be Polygons, Bench Polygons, or Solids.
- Cleared: The mining location is treated as a whole. Activities are performed before or after mining the entire location in the schedule.
|
| Split every
|
The number of polygons or objects by which to split the location.
The default value is one.
|
Resource Allocation
Note: For the Mining activity, the resource allocation applies to development and production mining.
|
| Equal resource distribution |
- Selected: Resources are distributed evenly across all available locations that have equal and highest priority. Activity rates in the locations are assigned honouring the ratio of the defined MAX_RATE for that location but not exceeding the resource capacity.
When the Equal resource distribution check box is selected, reduced rates are always allowed because, for the resource to be distributed equally, reduced rates must be allowed.
Note: If all of the highest priority locations have been assigned their MAX_RATE and the activity resource capacity has not been reached, the next highest priority locations are allocated the remainder of the resource capacity until the resource capacity is reached.
- Cleared: Resources are allocated to the highest priority locations at their MAX_RATE value.
|
| Allow reduced rates
|
- Selected: A resource can work in a heading or location at a rate below its MAX_RATE so that the resource capacity is completely used.
- Cleared: A resource is allocated to a heading or location only if it can work at its MAX_RATE in that heading or location.
|
| Allow resource reallocation
|
- Selected: When a higher priority location becomes available, a resource is
able to stop working in its current location and move to the new higher priority location.
- Cleared: When a higher priority location becomes available, if there is no spare resource capacity, the resource must complete working in its current location before moving to the higher priority location.
